Insulation Grants for Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation

Where a property does not already have adequate loft or cavity wall insulation, a Home Insulation Grant may be available to improve the energy efficiency of the property and thus to reduce the fuel poverty of the occupants. The scheme is government funded and provides energy advice and grants to cover the costs of home insulation and to improve energy efficiency for certain groups of people including those on low incomes.

The scheme covers both owner-occupiers and people renting accommodation. In some cases, the maximum grant available does not cover the full cost of the work and you have to pay something towards the costs. However, in England a hardship fund has been set up to help meet the extra payments that might be needed.

Home Insulation Grants that can cover our installation costs are available to many.

 

 

If you or your partner receives one of the following benefits you can get help financing Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation.

• Income Support
• Housing Benefit
• Council Tax Benefit (This does not include single occupancy reduction)
• Disabled Persons Tax credit
• Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
• War Disablement Pension (must also be in receipt of Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
• Attendance Allowance
• Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (must also be in receipt of Constant Attendance Allowance)
• Child Tax Credit (and with an annual income of less than £15,460)
• Working Tax Credit (and with an annual income of less than £15,460)
• Disability Living Allowance
• Pension Credit

If you do not receive any of the above benefits you can still gain from other grants which help cover the cost of Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation. Warm Front Grants can be paid directly to us giving a net cost to you.
